With extensive experience in litigation and transactional matters, we help clients both enforce and protect their legal rights and develop strategic planning for the future.  Whether forming a business, collecting a commercial debt, or defending a court action, our unique experience across different practice areas is significant for clients whose legal needs span more than one area of the law.

Areas of Practice

International Trade and Business Matters

We provide legal assistance to companies that export goods to the United States and U.S. importers in trade remedies actions before the U.S. government.  These matters include antidumping and countervailing duty proceedings before the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission, and actions before the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP).  We also initiate and defend judicial appeals of trade decisions before the U.S. Court of International Trade and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit. Irene H. Chen’s experience as an attorney advisor at both the U.S. Department of Commerce and the U.S. International Trade Commission offers invaluable insight into how both agencies conduct trade remedies proceedings.

Family Law & Estate Planning

We take a personal approach in assisting clients with their family law matters, as each case is different.  We assist clients in preparing separation agreements, pre- and post-marital agreements, and child custody/support agreements.  If settlement is not possible, we assist clients in aggressively handling their contested cases before local courts, with an eye to a later settlement during the litigation or proceeding to trial.

We guide clients through their estate planning needs, including preparation of wills, advance medical directives, and powers of attorneys.  This is an important step for clients, whether they are single or have a spouse and children, so they can make their wishes known. Estate planning can also avoid disagreements or possible legal disputes among their loved ones down the road.

“Ms. Chen’s law firm provided well thought-out options, clearly defining the risks and potential rewards.  They then proceeded to negotiate the best terms possible. I have since recommended Ms. Chen’s law firm to others with great results as well.”
